Zrconium nitrate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Zr(NO3)4•5H2O. It has wide applications in chemical and other industrial fields.

 

Ceramic Industry: In the ceramic industry, zirconium nitrate is used as a colorant and a component of coatings.

 

Chemical Reagent: In chemical reagents, zirconium nitrate can be used in precipitation analysis or separation techniques.

 

Precursor to Metallic Zirconium: Zirconium nitrate is also used as a precursor to metallic zirconium for the preparation of high-purity metallic zirconium.

Humidity Sensor: Due to its high hygroscopicity, zirconium nitrate can also be used as a humidity sensor in relative hygrometers.

 

Refractory Material Manufacturing: Zirconium nitrate can be used as a reagent for the determination of potassium and fluorine, and can also be used in the manufacture of refractory materials.

 

Ternary Catalyst: In industrial applications, zirconium nitrate is widely used in the manufacture of ternary catalysts, zirconium compound intermediates, and chemical reagents.

 

Synthesis of Zirconium Salts, Zirconates, and Zirconium Complexes: Zirconium nitrate can also serve as an important raw material for other chemical reactions, such as the synthesis of zirconium salts, zirconates, and zirconium complexes.

 

This technology uses zirconium carbonate as a raw material, reacting it with nitric acid. The resulting solution is then treated through low-temperature vacuum evaporation and drying processes to ultimately produce qualified zirconium nitrate.
