Cerium oxide is a pale yellow or light red powder. The uses are:
1. It is used as an additive in the glass industry and a glass grinding material. It is used in ceramic glaze and electronic industry as a piezoelectric ceramic penetrating agent.
2. Manufacture of high-activity catalysts, incandescent hoods for gas lamps, and phosphor screens for X-rays.
3. Cerium oxide can also be used as lens polishing agent, rare earth polishing powder has the advantages of fast polishing speed, high finish and long service life, compared with traditional polishing powder iron red powder, it does not pollute the environment, and is easy to remove from the stained matter.
4. Cerium oxide used for glass decolorization has the advantages of stable high temperature performance, low price and non-absorption of visible light.
