Features
Chemical formula PrCl3. Molecular weight 247.27. Blue-green needle-shaped crystals. The melting point is 786°C, the boiling point is 1700°C, and the relative density is 4.0225. Its seven hydrates are green triclinic crystals. It is deliquescent, with a melting point of 115°C and a relative density of 2.25417. When heated to 108°C in a hydrogen chloride atmosphere, it loses 6 molecules of crystal water and becomes anhydrous at 180°C. Both are easily soluble in water, hydrochloric acid and ethanol. Preparation method: obtained by reacting hydrochloric acid and praseodymium dioxide. Purpose: used as chemical reagent.
